While the progress photos appear that little progress is being made, Steve is putting in may hours on the body work finish prior to painting.   Each time he feels close to priming more small imperfections are found.

We both continue keeping an eye on eBay deluxe interior parts and external GTA350 trim

Steve smoothing out a few minor finish blemishes.

While Steve is busy with the body work, his father Paul works on detailing the power steering that will be installed.  The car will be converted to power steering with an auto  tilt up-and-away steering wheel.  Power brakes with front disks are also being installed

Today is time for priming.  Starting with the interior of the car as well as the trunk and dash an initial coat of primer is sprayed in place.  This primer also acts as a fine filler adding several thousands of finish that will then be block sanded down before another coat is added.

The car is now starting to look more like an automobile.  After the primer application and sanding is complete the power train will be dropped in place and then the car will be floated to a paint booth in town for painting.

On the return trip we will drop the car off at a muffler shop for a custom stainless steel exhaust system

Finally! The start of the painting.  In the shop Steve has painted the inside of the hood, trunk lid and the interior metal of the car in the Ford Candy Apple Red.

The total inside is now painted as well as the top cowling and the lip beneath the hood.

Later this week Active Franks will flat bed the car to a paint booth in town for the exterior painting.  Then the re-assembly of the project begins.
