Bill says:..... I was introduced to ham radio first by my uncle, 3AFG, Art McElroy. He was on the air before licensing in Canada, about 1914 or so. He is listed in the 1923 call sign listings on the KWARC web site but wasn't active after 1929. At that time, 3BM was Fred Hindson, a good friend of my Uncle. I was first licenced in Toronto in 1958, having been interested in Ham Radio for at least 10 years. When Bill Martin in Bramalea (then VE3BM) an old friend became a silent key I wasn't really thinking of a two letter call as I wasn't very active at the time but in 1992 when Nels, VA3NB, changed calls I jumped at the chance for the initial call sign. I have had four call signs, the last of which is, of course, VE3BM. The equipment in the above photo as follows: Top row: Second row Bottom row You can email Bill at ve3bm@golden.net [
