Welcome to the web site for
Please allow me to tell you that I'm truly intimidated by the computer, my daughter Julie says I suffer from computer phobia. I'm truly grateful to
In 1987 my wife Brenda and I purchased 15 acres of land 3 miles outside the City of Guelph, Ontario and started to plan our Dream home which we built in
From this tower looking towards New Zealand I laid out a 3 wire Rhombic, 70 feet high - 290 feet per leg. The Rhombic is truly a dynamite antenna. I can work 10 through 160 metres without any tuners or any other matching devices. I must give credit to a good friend of mine from Australia, Bill Sadler VK3AMH who came and spent 3 weeks in the summer of 1989. Together with the other Hams helping we put up the Rhombic. I must say that on some of the first tests on this new antenna I was some what disappointed since I was getting better reports from ZL land than from VK land. Seems that my compass was not as accurate as I thought, the Rhombic was to have been on VK and later I discovered it was in fact pointed on ZL land. So with a 4 element 20 metre beam on top of the 100 foot tower and the multi-band Rhombic, I started to work the world. Soon I discovered that it was difficult to work the far east or over the pole on the Rhombic so I started to plan mono banders on all bands.
At present my antenna farm consists of:
I'm now working on several 4 element 20 metre beams phased together on several towers. The next plan is to stack similar antennas for 17, 15 and 12 metres. If you have worked me in the past and do not have a color QSL card please feel free to right click over the card and save then print on a color (or B&W) printer and fill out the QSO info. It's not legal for DXCC but it is a nicer card. Hi Hi. I promise to soon have my own e-mail address and a permanent web site so you can send me your comments and suggestions. In closing I would like to thank my "mentor" Fred Hammond VE3HC. Fred became a silent-key in 1999 and was been a long time friend and a great encouragement to me and hundreds of other hams around the world. Thanks Fred!
